Southern California Living

Project: Clients have a large house, which they exchange (or “home swap” as it’s sometimes called) with international and US homeowners three to four times a year. They wished to update their house in order to attract and swap with the most beautiful properties around the world.

Project Scope: This is a current project and involves a complete top to bottom remodel. Walls were taken down and rooms were configured differently to make better use of space. The interior design is ongoing but the kitchen is completed; you will see the photos below (be sure to scroll down to see what it looked like before).

Design Concept: Classical and comfortable.

BEFORE

kitchen before remodel

The prior kitchen was outdated. It also was too small for large group gatherings. We painted the wall cabinets (to save on costs), replaced the countertop material, as well as all the appliances. The ungainly kitchen island was torn out and we designed a custom one to replace it. Floors were replaced with wide-plank hardwood.

The prior backsplash tile, granite countertop, cabinet pulls, and cabinet finish were all replaced.
