Today we’re giving a high five to our favorite eternally-in-style pattern: stripes.
Stripes are a classically iconic. From Queen Victoria dressing her son in a striped outfit for a royal yacht boarding event, signaling to the crowd that stripes were officially IN to Coco Chanel employing them plentifully in her creations creating an emblematic French style. Just as stripes are prolific in fashion, it’s equally plentiful in interior design. We like them because they remind us of the vacation lifestyle at it’s most iconic – think a yellow striped beach umbrella on the Italian Riviera or wide striped blue pillows you can lean against on a poolside divan.
The beauty of stripes is there are no rules; they go with everything and will fit with any kind of interior setting – they can be both traditional and modern, depending on your taste. We like to combine stripes with curvilinear designs because stripes enhance the beauty of curves.
