5 Simple Spring Refresh Ideas

It’s official…spring has arrived! We are so excited to enjoy some warm days ahead and burst out of our winter cocoons.

There’s something energizing about shaking off the winter months and freshening up your home to reflect the warmer weather and longer days outside. Confused about where to start, and how to transition? With just a few quick tweaks your interior design will go from winter ready to warm weather fabulous.

1. Break Out The Color
Longer days and warmer temperatures make spring the best time to play with color. Change out your dining chairs for colored ones or hang up some bright airy curtains. Such changes add little pops of color throughout rooms to create an atmosphere that screams spring.

2. Tuck Away Cold Weather Accessories
All of the wool blankets and darker, wintery colored throw pillows that made us cold weather cozy are feeling kinda obsolete now that spring is here. This is especially important in vacation homes and Airbnbs where guests expect their temporary digs to feel like the spring weather outside. Store wintery stuff away in zippered compartments in a closet or under a bed. You can bring them all out again when the colder weather cycles in again (but no need to think about that now!).

3. Embrace The Outdoors
Spring is all about enjoying nature – spring picnics, nature walks, garden parties are all glorious possibilities. Decorating with flowers, leaves, and fruit bowls brings the outdoors inside and reminds everyone that the longer days are upon us. We suggest a bright flower bouquet on a dining table or nightstand and a bowl of fresh oranges or grapefruits.

4. Swap Out Wintery Artwork
Adding in a few new photos, oils or watercolors on your wall that embrace the spirit of spring is one of the easiest ways to create a seasonally appropriate design (again this is super important in vacation rentals and Airbnbs). Think spring landscapes with bright colors or anything inspired by summery contexts.

5. Rethink Your Shelves
A bookshelf is a must-have showpiece for not only books, but accessories and interesting finds. Put your bookshelf to work by swapping out your more subdued wintery items for brighter, more colorful pieces or objects of nature, such as rocks, shells, or mini potted plants.
