A new year is upon us and with that comes a fresh wave of design trends we’re excited to talk about for 2024. As our favorite retailers begin to unveil their new collections, we find ourselves engulfed by an array of pieces that will undoubtedly come to play in our designs this year —and that’s something we can always jump up and down about. Ahead, we list the 7 leading trends you need on your design radar and some new shopping finds that will help you usher them home.
In for 2024…
1. Jewel tones are all the rage
We have always been about deep, rich colors anyway so we could not be more delighted! The whole neutral on neutral thing has had its heyday and we are calling it out.
2. An ode to antiquities
Ancient Africa, Rome, and Greece motifs we are increasingly seeing more of. Perhaps it’s because people are maxing out on tech and want to get back to thinking about history.
3. Stacking artwork or objects on the wall
Stacking has always been in style, particularly in historical home with high ceilings, but we are seeing it more and more in contemporary interiors as well. It’s engaging and fun!
4. You can’t have too many curves
While this is not a new trend, sculptural furnishings are still very much happening, from sofas to nightstands to mirrors to just about everything.
5. Personalized pieces and heirlooms
Avoid mass produced items and embrace the unique and singular. A vintage pewter cup, antique blue and white vase, Japanese ceramic bowls, or a cloisonné table lamp are so much interesting than a shiny white vase bought at a big box store.
6. Brown is the new grey (but there’s a catch)
Brown is in! However, there’s a catch. It’s paired with rich, jewel tones, such as pink, orange, turquoise, indigo, and navy.
7. Murals are having a moment
Murals are increasingly making an appearance. We love them because they amplify the spaciness of a space and makes you feel like you are in a magical realm.
So are you ready for 2024?! Here are our latest 2024 finds, some of which are going in some current projects we have in the works….
