One of our favorite color combinations is the quintessential blue and white, as they never cease to look fabulous in most any setting. Perhaps it’s the look of deep blue skies against a blanket of pristine snow or spires of blue and white delphiniums in a spring landscape; how about big, puffy clouds against a cerulean summer sky? These and many more associations in nature are perhaps why the two colors marry so fantastically.
One of the main reasons we like blue and white is they neutralize the colors brown and beige, which tend to be prevalent in anything wood you may have in a room. Too much brown and beige makes people feel lethargic and low-energy, thus it’s important to add in blues and whites to harmonize a room, which is why we specify it so plentifully.
Chinoiserie is one trick we use for quick blue and white pops of color. It’s timeless and looks good in most design styles, from modern to traditional.
